The 3 questions the AI interviewer asks
Word for word from the demo. In the demo and in a real interview, the AI also asks its own follow-ups from what the candidate says.
- 1
“Can you describe a challenging project you managed? What was your role, what were the key challenges, and how did you overcome them?”
What a strong answer shows
- Separates their own role and decisions from what the team did
- Names the real constraint: scope, people, dependencies, budget or time
- Gives a concrete outcome and what they would do differently next time
- 2
“Imagine a critical project milestone is at risk due to an unexpected technical blocker. How would you assess the situation and what steps would you take to get the project back on track?”
What a strong answer shows
- Gets facts first: impact, owners, options and a realistic new date
- Tells stakeholders early, with options and trade-offs, not just bad news
- Recovers visibly: re-sequences work, adds help or renegotiates scope
- 3
“What project management methodologies are you most familiar with, and how do you adapt your approach based on the project's needs?”
What a strong answer shows
- Knows Scrum, Kanban or waterfall from practice, not only by name
- Explains how risk, uncertainty and team maturity shape the choice
- Describes adapting a method mid-project, and what prompted the change
What this demo shows
This demo is a short structured interview: the same three questions for everyone who takes it. Structured interviews predict job performance about twice as well as unstructured ones (Sackett et al., 2022). That is why Hyrr scores every candidate in an AI interview for project managers against the same written guide, set before the first applicant. The conversation still moves: the AI interviewer follows up on what you say, and you can interrupt it or ask it something back, by phone or in the browser.

Common questions
Can project manager candidates interview by phone?
Yes, when phone interviews are switched on for the job. Candidates call a toll-free line, with no browser or data plan needed, which helps people without a laptop. You can take this demo by phone too.
Can the interview go deeper for senior project managers?
Yes. Each skill on the scorecard has a written grading guide, and your team sets its depth using Bloom's taxonomy, so a senior program role can be held to a higher bar than a coordinator role. Skills are also weighted, so the ones that matter most count most.
What happens after the AI round?
The candidates you advance move to later rounds. For a human interview, the candidate picks from the slots you offer, you confirm, and invites go out on Google or Microsoft calendars. Copilot can join those Google Meet or Teams calls with the transcript, the question plan, suggested follow-ups and notes. Any stage can also be AI-led.
